Governors
The success of a Governing Body can only, and should only, be measured by the success of the school. We are constantly reminding ourselves that the children’s learning and well-being should be at the heart of everything we do.
We have statement of common purpose to ensure that we remain focussed on what we are trying to achieve:
- To Promote Partnership
- To Plan Strategically
- To Improve Practice
- To Ensure Progress
This also helps up to ensure that Earlwood is a school that lives up to its VISION:
’Working Together for Lifelong Learning and Achievement for ALL’
What do we do?
* Work as a team in partnership with parents, staff, children and the wider community
* Attend full Governing Body meetings and Committee meetings at least twice a term
* Promote the school in the local community
* Monitor and evaluate previous plans and policies to show that progress is being made
* Plan for all aspects of school development and improvement; from the building maintenance program to setting targets for children’s achievement
* Work within a legal framework to carry out duties
* Make decisions ranging from the school logo to the appointment of the Head Teacher
It has been an extremely exciting and successful year at Earlswood Infant and Nursery School. We are very pleased with the progress that has been made in all areas of school life this year. The development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and the new School Vision Statement and Aims have made a significant impact on the whole school.
We are very proud that the school has achieved the ’Investors in People’ award. The whole ’Investors in People’ process has made such a difference to the way we work. We are very fortunate to have such dedicated and hardworking staff and governors at Earlswood. There seems to be a real feeling of enthusiasm and motivation throughout the school.
