Friends of Earlswood

Friends of Earlswood (FoE) is a voluntary body (known in other schools as the PTA) whose chief aim is to raise money for the benefit of the school and have some fun along the way.  All parents and carers of children at Earlswood Infant and Nursery School are automatically members of FoE.

We meet informally once a month to plan events, catch up on progress and come up with new ideas.  Some people join us every month and others just when they can.  Everyone is welcome.  People contribute by making cakes or craft items, helping out at events and most importantly by attending the events. Please see our page in ‘News and Events’ sections for dates of monthly meetings this year.

Some events are money raisers, some are purely for fun and we try to arrange at least one joint event (splitting the proceeds equally) with the local junior school, Brambletye.

Events include (although not all every year!):

* Treasure Hunt * Christmas Shopping Evening * Christmas Fair * Fashion Show *
* Music Quiz and Curry Night * Nearly New Sale * Sponsored Bike/Scooter Ride *
* Race Night * Auction of Promises * 70s/80s Disco * Summer Fun Day *

Money is also raised through:

* Yellow Moon Catalogues * Weekly DVD Rental Club * Uniform Sales * Yearbooks *
* Class Photographs * Corporate Sponsorship *

So, what do we spend the money on?

Every penny of the money raised by FoE goes straight back into the school to benefit each and every child. We work very closely with the school in deciding what to spend the money on.  Examples are:

* Outdoor play and learning areas * Willow Dome * BBQs for use at events *
* 3 large sandpits and sunshades and their upkeep * Christmas presents for each class *
* Pair of guinea pigs and their upkeep * Digital cameras for each class *
* Wooden bookshelves, dressing up stand and easel for school and nursery *
* Annual donation of £250 to linked schools (Uganda/Finland/Wales/Merstham) *

* State of the Art Playground Equipment aka SNUG *
